This layout came together real easy and was fun.  I used an old Scrapbooks Etc. magazine sketch for inspiration.  I used a lot of die cuts from my Cricut Explore (cartridges used are listed below).  I actually broke out my colored pencils for this page (which I haven't done in a while) and did a bit of coloring on my title.  I stamped my title and fussy cut the alphas.  I also made this page a little interactive so that when Harrison looks at his album, he will be able to remove some of the elements.

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks.

Supply List

Another fun mixed media layout.  I was really happy with the way this turned out.  When I was first applying the mixed media to the background I got discourage because I wasn't getting the results that I had intended.  But the finished product looks pleasing to me and I'm satisfied with the composition of the page as a whole.

I hope you enjoy watching the video and find this layout process to be an inspiration.

As promised, I added the supply lists for my last two uploaded videos on YouTube.  Sorry it took so long.  If you have any questions, please let me know either here or on my channel. Thanks.

Dec 2, 2014

OK.  I haven't been keeping up here.  I have made many uploads to my YouTube channel that I haven't yet linked here.  I have put them below.  I will not be linking my Haul videos or my Tutorial Videos to my blog.  But there are some on my YouTube channel if you're interested in checking them out click here My YouTube Channel.

I am going to start providing a supply list with my layouts for those who are interested. I will post the supply list for the layout below each layout video.   At first my supply lists may not seem very thorough.  That is because I am going back and making lists after the fact, and I might not get everything as accurate as you or I would like.  Please bear with me while I get this process going, it will get better as I begin making the supply list while I'm creating.  :)

For the twins' albums, I am using my old Scrapbooks etc. magazine sketches that I have preserved (LOL)  to give me inspiration.  The layouts don't usually turn out looking anything like the sketch that I started with, but that's the point, right?  The sketch is only to get your juices flowing.  Also, I am pulling out some old supplies to try to challenge myself to use them in a different way (and get rid of them at the same time, hehe).

Below is another layout that I did of the twins.  The funny thing about this layout is that they are not identical, so it's kind of silly.  Since I am doing an album for each of them, I am going to do a page featuring a pic of them together for each of their albums.

No Supply List availble for the Who is Who?  layout.  Sorry.

Below is another of the mixed media layouts that I am doing for our album that features our Cruise vacation earlier this year.  I tell you, by the time I get the album done, we will have already been on our next Cruise.  We are planning another one for mid spring of 2015.  So we'll see.  I got the Seashore collection by Prima for this album and I am just loving how my pages are turning out.  The colors are perfect for this type of vacation.  The neutral colors are my favorites anyway.  I just finished another mixed media layout this past weekend and I have the footage in the que to be edited and uploaded.  Hopefully, that will be soon.  I still have several other videos ahead of it.

This picture is of James and I on our balcomy drinking the champagne that was chilling in our room just for this purpose.  I love the feeling that you have when you are just leaving to start your vacation adventure, especially if you've been looking forward to it for a while.  The feeling of just getting away from it all and traveling somewhere far away anticipating the fun and adventure ahead.  There's nothing like it and that's how we were feeling in these pics.

Supply List for Bon Voyage Mixed Media Layout:

  • Paper: Prima Seashore Collection; DCWV-Metallic Stack; 6X6 Corrugated Paper pad-DCWV; and   specialty paper from my stash
  • Inks: Distress Ink - Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain; Truquoise Stone Prima Chalk Ink; Distress         Stain - Frayed Burlap; Adirondak Alcohol Inks - Cloudy Blue, Slate, Copper Mixative, Blending         Solution
  • Faber Castell Gelatos - Cotton Candy
  • Pens: Distress Marker-Frayed Burlap
  • Paint: Americana-Spa Blue
  • Gel Medium - Liquitex
  • Clear Gesso - Liquitex
  • Tools: TCW Stencil-Harlequin; Cricut Explore(cut Title in my PC Font Impact); Cuttlebug       embossing folder - Dots
  • Adhesive: hot glue, The Ultimate Crafter's Glue
  • Generic items: twine, glass pebbles, glass beads (Antique Gold), birdcage veil trim

Finally,  here is another layout done using an old sketch.  This one really does not resemble the sketch when it's finished (at least I don't see it anyway).  This is for the twins again.  I will have several layouts for their albums coming up.  What I do is spend about an hour or so to print some pictures that I want to scrap and then prepare the layouts by pairing each picture with paper and a sketch.  I store all of that in a page protector for each layout.  This helps me when I get ready to do the layout because the colors and the general composition have alreeady been decided.   The time it takes to set this up is really worth it.

This is  another layout for Harrison's album.  This is a pic of me getting my turn feeding him.  Sweet smell of baby!  Ahhhhhh.
